Our Allergen List

I just realized some of you may wonder what all the allergens we have to avoid are, so I thought I would give you the list.

Caleb has asthma, and is allergic to:

Has tested out of:

Jacob is allergic to:

  • Dairy

  • Peanut

  • Barley
  • Rye
  • Green Pea
  • Broccoli
  • Lentils
  • Corn
  • Potato
  • Beans [all]: black, kidney, lima, etc
  • Beef
  • Pork
  • Turkey
  • Canola
  • Safflower
  • Flax seed
  • Cottonseed
  • Sunflower seed
  • Sesame seed
  • Olive
  • Strawberry
  • Apple
  • Coconut
  • Lemon
  • Banana
  • Grape
  • Orange
  • Summer Squash
  • Mustard
  • Amaranth
  • Sorghum
  • Quinoa
  • Millet
  • Hemp Milk
  • Pumpkin
  • Buckwheat
  • Cod
  • Haddock
  • Chicken
  • Rice
  • Salmon

Environmental Allergens:
  • Dog
  • Cat
  • Dustmites

He also has had positive Rast test results on the following:

Spinach, Tomato, Squash, Raspberry, Onion, Summer Squash.

These have not been confirmed with skin testing yet. However, a few foods from this list have since appeared on skin test results! [coconut, rice, apple, and white potato!].

    Wow how do you manage? My list isn’t that extensive & I have a hard time trying to figure out what’s safe to eat.

      Re-group, write a list out of every food I can think of that he CAN eat, or we haven’t tested him for yet, then try to build a menu and recipes from what’s left. It’s all we can do, as parents and providers right? Because they have to eat, 3 times a day! 😉 Jenny
